Cartography, the art and science of graphically representing a geographical area, usually on a flat surface such as a map or chart; it may involve the superimposition of political, cultural, or other nongeographical divisions onto the representation of a geographical area. The text Cartography presents several contributions at different areas and activities showing the importance of the cartography to the perception and organization of the territory. First chapter discusses the contribution of new sensors to cartography. Open source tools, landscape, and cartography studies on the cultural heritage have been discussed in second chapter. Third chapter describes the role of cartography in imaging the past, particularly taking into consideration the multiculturalism of borderlands. Cartography of landscape dynamics has been introduced in fourth chapter. The cartography and the spatial representations have been focused in fifth chapter. In sixth chapter, we report a methodological procedure with an integrated physical-perceptual approach that allows units of landscape in protected natural areas to be differentiated. The objective of seventh chapter is to describe a mobile laboratory for the monitoring of constructions deformations in the incipient phases. Eighth chapter presents a new method for automatic 3D urban cartography that progressively removes imperfections in an effective manner. The use of terrestrial 3d laser scanner in cartographing and monitoring relief dynamics has been described in ninth chapter. Advanced map optimization based on eye-tracking has been introduced in tenth chapter. In eleventh chapter, three GIS-based models have been used, relying on different methodologies and techniques. Analysis of pre-geodetic maps in search of construction steps has been described in twelfth chapter. Web map tile services for spatial data infrastructures have been introduced in thirteenth chapter. The aim of last chapter is to show a kind of sketch of the further fu
