Sinopse
A chemical bond is an attraction between atoms that allows the formation of chemical substances that
contain two or more atoms. The bond is caused by the electrostatic force of attraction between opposite
charges, either between electrons and nuclei, or as the result of a dipole attraction. The text Chemical
Bonding presents the di erent approaches used for describing a chemical bond, including molecular-
orbital based, valence-bond based, and density-functional based method. In rst chapter, we
analyze four chemical reactions by transforming the multi-con gurational self-consistent eld
(MCSCF) wave functions into orthogonal valence bond wave functions. A comparative theoretical
study of picric acid and its cocrystals has been proposed in second chapter. In third chapter, we report
separator membranes from crosslinking of two polymers, such as poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) with an ionic
polymer poly (methyl vinyl ether-alt-maleic anhydride) (PMVE-MA). Fourth chapter reports crystal
structures of two title phases in terms of the amount and the location of the Sn-substitution and
provides the rationale for these phenomena using the atomic size-factor perspective and comprehensive
theoretical analyses. In fth chapter, we present a detailed spectroscopic characterization of
cyclovalone (CYV), a synthetic CURC derivative in which the keto-enolic system is substituted by a
saturated cyclohexanone ring. The interlayer alloys for DD6 transient liquid phase di usion bonding
have been designed in sixth chapter. Bonding characteristics of titanium carbide (TiC) and titanium
nitride (TiN) have been presented in seventh chapter. Hydrogen-bonding in two pyridinium salts of
[Mo2O4CL4( 2-DMSH)]3-complex has been focused in eighth chapter. In ninth chapter, we describe
electronic structure and phase transition in ferroelectic Sn2P2S6crystal. The genesis of the quantum
theory of the chemical bond has been investigated in tenth chapter. Halogen bonding interactions in
