    Sinopse

Computational fluid dynamics is a branch of fluid mechanics that uses numerical analysis and algorithms to solve and analyze problems that involve fluid flows. Computers are used to perform the calculations required to simulate the interaction of liquids and gases with surfaces defined by boundary conditions. The text Computational Fluid Dynamics focuses on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), emphasizing the fundamentals and surveying a variety of solution techniques whose applications range from low speed incompressible flow to hypersonic flow. A preconditioned arbitrary Mach number scheme applied to rotating machinery has been presented in first chapter. Applications of computational fluid dynamics in natural gas processing and transportation have been described in second chapter. Third chapter considers adiabatic flows where the interfacial and wall momentum transfer is represented by various forces acting between the two phases and between the wall and each phase. Fourth chapter outlines the basics of computational fluid dynamics. Fifth chapter focuses on numerical simulation of flow in Erlenmeyer shaken flask. Application of computational fluid dynamics to practical design and performance analysis of turbomachinery has been presented in sixth chapter. The aim of seventh chapter is to evaluate drag force and drag coefficient corresponding to the variation in kinematic parameters of swimmer’s hand during complete underwater front crawl stroke cycle. Hydrodynamic behavior of flow in a drinking water treatment clarifier has been investigated in eighth chapter. In ninth chapter, we introduce a design technique for defining the geometry of Savonius wind turbines that is based on the Myring Equation. Tenth chapter focuses on numerical simulations of wave-induced flow fields around large-diameter surface-piercing vertical circular cylinder. A computational fluid dynamics model of flow and settling in sedimentation tanks has been introduced in eleventh chapter. The CFD-
