Sinopse
Handbook of Fluorescent Dyes and Probes is the most comprehensive subject, covering the as-pect of the available dyes and probes known to date in the literature for uses in numerous fields. The efficiency of the most widely used dyes is investigated in first chapter. Second chapter ex-plores on internalization of near-infrared fluorescent dyes within isolated leukocyte populations. In third chapter, we report the synthesis and physicochemical characterization of novel aza-BODIPY NIR derivatives. Fourth chapter proposes on three symmetric alkylamino-substituted perylene bisimides with different n-alkyl chain lengths (n = 6, 12, or 18), 1,7-bis-(N,N-dialkylamino) perylene bisimides (1a–1c). Fifth chapter explores on fluorescent-dye doped thin-film sensors for the detection of alcohol vapors. Sixth chapter highlights recent progress on fluo-rescent imaging probes for biologically important species, such as biothiols, reactive oxygen spe-cies, reactive nitrogen species, metal ions including Zn2+, Hg2+, Cu2+ and Au3+, and anions includ-ing cyanide and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Seventh chapter highlights on photobleaching kinetics and time-integrated emission of fluorescent probes in cellular membranes. Eighth chapter aims to understand functional groups which should allow the probes to anchor properly within a raft domain, while not having a negative effect upon the emission spectra. In the first part of ninth chapter, the principle of fluorescence and the different available fluorophores will be pre-sented, in addition to techniques used for imaging. Then, a review of the fluorescent probes used in PCW together with the information obtained will show the advantages of such analysis. Tenth chapter provides a general strategy for developing cell-permeable photo-modulatable organic flu-orescent probes for live-cell super-resolution imaging. Eleventh chapter describes a novel rea-gentless fluorescent biosensor strategy named Quenchbody, which functions via the antigen-d
