Sinopse
Reliability theory describes the probability of a system completing its expected function during an interval of time. It is the basis of reliability engineering, which is an area of study focused on optimizing the reliability, or probability of successful functioning, of systems, such as airplanes, linear accelerators, and any other product. The text Reliability Theory gives a very concrete introduction to basic preventive maintenance policies in reliability theory. In first chapter, we introduce the entropy function in order to study the reliability and repairability of systems. Second chapter describes the application of reliability-centered maintenance methodology to the development of maintenance plan for a steam-process plant. Third chapter discusses how to reshape the science of reliability with the entropy function. In fourth chapter, we deal with Bayes prediction of future observables from exponentiated populations with fixed and random sample size. In fifth chapter, random fuzzy variables have been employed to represent uncertain lifetimes of components in the unrepairable systems. In sixth chapter, the dynamic model of the filtering reducer has been built by considering the effect of shocks on the performance where the gear meshing is equivalent to spring and damper. Fuzzy dynamic reliability model of dependent series mechanical systems has been presented in seventh chapter. Eighth chapter performs an in-depth reliability analysis with an emphasis on predicting the lifetime of diesel engine’s turbocharger, in which the failure mode and the information of criticality provided by FMECA are fully utilized to carry out the reliability predictions. Ninth chapter proposes a new response surface method (RSM) based on all sample point interpolation approach (ASPIA). The objective of tenth chapter is to design and construct a method for functional reliability analysis of concrete gravity dam. In eleventh chapter, we treat the reliability assessment problem of low a
