SYNTHESIS AND APPLICATIONS OF CARBON NANOTUBES AND THEIR COMPOSITES

Understanding the reactivity of monomers is crucial in creating copolymers and determining theoutcome of copolymerization. Covering the fundamental aspects of polymerization, the text Synthesisand Applications of Copolymers explores the reactivity of monomers and reaction conditions thatensure that the newly formed polymeric materials exhibit desired properties. First chapter focuses onsynthesis and characterization of poly (D,L-Lactide-co-Glycolide) copolymer. In second chapter, theblock copolymers containing PTAA segment and poly (n-butyl acrylate) (PBA) or poly (ethyl acrylate)segment have been prepared by combination of C-N coupling and ATRP for the rst time. Third chapterdescribes a complete analysis, from synthesis of the material to its applications, together with thecorresponding characterizations. In fourth chapter, we establish the synthetic strategy for PF-b-PTAAwhich is modi ed to prepare a block copolymer consisting of PF and PTAA functionalized with greenemitting phenoxazine moiety. Fifth chapter presents a valuable route towards temperature-responsivesmart textiles and their potential applications. Sixth chapter deals with synthesis of bio-basedpoly copolymers with high thermal stability and ductility. In seventh chapter, we use the copolymerizationof polyethylene glycol (PEG) and vinyltriethoxy silane (VTES) in varying proportions. Eighthchapter reveals the in uence of the ratio of poor/good solvents on the morphological and photophysicalproperties of these di-block copolymers with various coil lengths as well as the spectral stability ofPF-b-P2VP. Ninth chapter demonstrates that the addition of small amounts of aliphatic tricarboxylicacid monomer to malic acid, transforms the polymerization from a solid state to a melt state reactionbetween 130°C and 200°C.
