2024 GENERATE

Tongji University is committed to cultivating leaders of smart and sustainable design for future industries and lifestyles. In June 2024, the graduation design exhibitions of College of Design and Innovation (D&I), and Shanghai International College of Design and Innovation of Tongji University (Shanghai D&I) were unveiled at the Minghua Sugar Factory on Yangpu Binjiang, once again celebrating students’ academic achievements and showcasing Tongji’s design education accomplishments to society.
In 2022, D&I graduation exhibition has adopted the brand of “?|&”, reflecting the college’s inclusive and diverse culture and the transformative power of design to reconnect seemingly disparate elements, bringing “delight” to the ordinary world. It also embodies the theoretical depth and contemporary relevance of China’s outstanding traditional culture. The undergraduate exhibition’s theme of 2024 is “Generate” while the postgraduate exhibition explores “Connected & Reconstructed.” The college continues to be pioneering, and integrates knowledge with practice, relentlessly exploring the next station of design education. Emphasising interdisciplinary collaboration, we specially introduced an interdisciplinary design programme this year.
