ARCHITECTS' HOUSES

When it comes to designing their own homes, architects often see an opportunity to freely experiment with new ideas. It's here that they can freely innovate and implement their design theories, building their residences around their dreams and beliefs.
Architects' Houses showcases the homes of 200 leading architects, from Frank Lloyd Wright, Lina Bo Bardi, and Charles Correa to Shoei Yoh, Deborah Berke, Ken Shuttleworth, Bjarke Ingels, and Omar Gandhi.
Organized in alphabetical order, the book explores each residence through photography of the home's exterior and interior, as well as a brief text revealing how the architect has assumed the role of the client.
A foreword by featured architect Francine Houben further reflects upon the intersection of home and the profession, and an illustrated chronology of the homes at the back of the book allows readers to chart potential influences and movements.
