Federle (radiology, U. of Pittsburgh Medical Center) headed a roster comprising seven other contributors who eagerly sought out the best cases to include in this comprehensive text. Like other works prepared for this series, the text and images wereentered into the Amirsys authoring tool, which organized the content in a rational way, providing uniformity and consistency in the final presentation—a difficult goal to achieve in multi-authored texts using conventional means. The data is bulleted;the headings are big and include for each condition: terminology, imaging findings, differential diagnosis, pathology, clinical issues, diagnostic checklist, selected references. The image gallery for each topic features a color illustration and b&wscans. Coverage includes the major gastrointestinal and genitourinary organs and disease processes from congenital through traumatic, inflammatory, and neoplastic.
