When a sudden school boundary change uproots Summer's senior year, she's forced to transfer to Frost Lake High—the rival school she's spent years competing against. New hallways, new teammates, and a daily reminder that nothing is going according to plan makes starting over feel impossible. All Summer wants is to survive her final year while playing the game she loves most—soccer.

Rowan, Frost Lake's charming soccer star, has a very different problem. His future is already mapped out by his parents, complete with college admissions events and expectations he's never questioned—until now. Rowan has dreams of his own but admitting that might mean disappointing everyone he loves.

When Summer and Rowan's paths collide, a fake dating arrangement seems like the perfect solution. Rowan will help Summer fit in with her new team, and in return, she'll help make his ex-girlfriend jealous. It's strictly pretend. No feelings allowed.

But as lines blur between what's fake and what's real, Summer and Rowan must decide if following the plan is worth giving up something that finally feels right.
