The analysis of electromagnetic transients has long been a part of courses in circuit theory, but with the growing complexity of the topic and its importance in the design of power systems, Watson and Arrillaga (both of the U. of Canterbury, New Zealand) felt that it was time for a cohesive treatment of the computer analysis of electromagnetic transient programs.
