Established in 1872, Yellowstone is America s first national park and a global destination. To this day, Yellowstone remains one of the world s most popular destinations. The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem spans almost 3,500 miles, and extends into parts of Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, also making it one of the largest national parks in the United States. Grand Teton National Park, home of the majestic mountain range, was preserved as a national park in 1929.
