SILENCE OF THE TIDES

Silence of the Tides presents a stunning selection of images from a newly-released documentary about the Wadden Sea, the largest tidal wetlands area in the world. Stretching for 500 kilometres (310 miles) and encompassing 43 islands, this UNESCO World Heritage Site touches on the North Sea borders of the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark. The film beautifully captures the vulnerable relationship between nature and humans, and the unique dynamic of the Wadden Sea and its surroundings. This book features frames from the documentary and photographs of the filming itself which have been selected by its director, Pieter-Rim de Kroon, an award-winning Dutch cinematographer.
