THE ELUSIVE SAMURAI - VOL. 22

In war-torn medieval Japan, a young samurai lord struggles to retake his throne, but not by fighting. Hojo Tokiyuki will reclaim his birthright by running away!

In medieval Japan, eight-year-old Hojo Tokiyuki is the heir to the Kamakura shogunate. But the Hojo clan is in decline, and Tokiyuki's peaceful days of playing hide-and-seek with his teachers come to an abrupt end when his clan is betrayed from within. The lone survivor of his family, Tokiyuki is the rightful heir to the throne, but to take it back, he'll have to do what he does best--run away!

Forced out of his mountain defenses in Shinano, Tokiyuki goes on the run once again. After the death of Emperor Go-Daigo in 1339, political alliances shift again and again, even within the Ashikaga. When tensions arise between Takauji's brother, Tadayoshi, and his steward Moronao, only bloodshed will settle things. Did Takauji orchestrate it all? The years pass by, and Tokiyuki, now an adult, must decide who he will take as his wife--Shizuku, Ayako, or Mima--or...all three? Then in 1351, Tokiyuki encounters a lost comrade during a siege...
